Emergency First Responder
Course Description
An Emergency First Responder (EFR) is a person trained in Cardiac First Response that possesses additional knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of patients in a pre-hospital environment.

Recommended Age: 18 years

Course Duration
19 Modules
The minimum course duration is 30 hours. Your Civil Defence Officer (CDO) or instructor will advise whether the course is delivered over evenings, weekends, or a combination of both.
Please note that, within Civil Defence, the minimum duration may be exceeded to allow additional time for practical skills development and assessment.
Class Size/ Instructor Ratio:
The instructor student ration must not exceed 1: 6/8 students in a syndicate
Certifying Agency:
Successful candidates will be awarded a PHECC / Civil Defence Emergency First Response certificate. Certification is issued digitally by PHECC.
Certification period:
Certification lapses after three years; it is also necessary to retain certification in CFR (every 2 years).

The EFR multiple choice question paper exam of 40 questions; 80% pass mark - completed online
