FAR Instructor
Course Description
The First Aid Response Instructor Course qualifies the Instructor to deliver the FAR Course
Eligibility / Student Requirements
Volunteers who hold CFR Community and FAR or above
Course Duration
The Responder Instructor Standard includes tuition in instructional methods and a period of supervised teaching practice. The instructional methods component is no less than 2 days/12 hours. The period of supervised teaching practice is not dictated and may be extended until the specific learning outcomes are achieved.
Please note that, within Civil Defence, the minimum duration may be exceeded to allow additional time for practical skills development, monitoring and assessment.
Class Size/ Instructor Ratio:
The FAR instructor student ratio is 1:6
Certifying Agency:
Successful candidates will be awarded a PHECC / Civil Defence: First Aid Response Instructor certificate. Certification is issued digitally by PHECC.
Certification period:
The certificate is valid for two years. Re-certification training will be offered prior to expiry.
Assessment
Assessment must occur as the student instructor progresses through the period of supervised teaching practice.Course Location
The FAR Instructor Course is delivered in the Civil Defence College, dates, and times will be confirmed by the College Course Director.
